Bible Verse Widgets for iPhone: The Complete Setup & Customization Guide

Updated July 2026 · 6 min read

A Bible widget turns your Home Screen from a wall of app icons into a daily reminder of God's Word. This guide walks through the full setup in SoulVerse — adding the widget, activating it, and making it look exactly the way you want.

Step 1 — Add the widget to your Home Screen

  1. On your Home Screen, press and hold an empty spot until the apps start to wiggle.
  2. Tap Edit in the top-left corner, then choose Add Widget.
  3. Search for SoulVerse and add the verse widget in the size you like.

Step 2 — Activate it

Freshly added widgets show a one-time activation card. Tap Activate — after that, the widget is live and you configure everything from inside the app.

Step 3 — Customize the look

Open SoulVerse and go to Customize → Widgets. Tap Customize under the widget to open its settings. You can give the widget a name, keep the Default widget theme that changes with the Verse of the Day, or design your own look:

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a Bible verse widget on my iPhone Home Screen?
Press and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps start to wiggle, tap Edit in the top-left corner, choose Add Widget, and select SoulVerse. Then tap Activate on the widget and configure it inside the app.
Can I change how the Bible widget looks?
Yes. In SoulVerse's Customize tab you can change the widget's background, font, and name, or apply a ready-made set. With the Default widget option, the theme changes automatically with the Verse of the Day.
Can I add more than one Bible widget?
Yes. You can create several widgets — for example one with the Verse of the Day and another with a favorite verse — and place them on different Home Screen pages or on the Lock Screen.
Does the Home Screen widget drain the battery?
No. iOS widgets are static snapshots that the system refreshes a few times a day, so a verse widget has no noticeable impact on battery life.
